It's FINALLY Finished!!!

What began as an after Christmas project has turned into a Valentine's gift. Our bathroom remodel is finallly finished. It was a combined effort with Tony doing the sheetrock, tile, plumbing, countertop and trim and Leslie doing the tape/bed, texture, paint, and grout (and I might add a lot of clean up in between). We have just finished moving everything back into the room and now we can focus on picking up all of the tools so that Jake can start crawling freely around the house again. Here are some pic's from the project:

Before: The tile ran from behind the toilet into the tub and all the way down the opposite wall.

The demo was the most fun, but scary because it smelled really bad!

As witnessed by the extra large DQ cup there were many fast food evenings in our house while the project was under way. I couldn't handle a messy kitchen & bathroom at the same time.

Tony has really gotten good at tile work. He even made a really nice pattern about 2/3 of the way up. It sounded easy when we came up with the idea, but as most things do it took longer than expected.

It's hard to tell but the new color is Manatesse Grey. We had to change the khaki wall color or we would have had to stick a warning label on the door because there was just too much brown.

I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE the new bathroom. I just hope the cleaning ladies can get the tub cleaner than I have been able to manage. They usually do.

Trey

Well, if you haven't already heard Trey broke his leg while skiing last week. It wasn't just a minor break either. His leg broke in three places below the knee. His wonderful friends drove him home in incredible pain all the way from Ria Dosa and straight to the ER at Parkland. He had a very successful surgery last Tuesday and he will be recovering in Combine over the next couple of months. He removed his bandages today so I'll take some pictures of his narly leg and add them to the post. So, if you call I'll probably be in Combine with no phone reception. Please leave a message and I'll call back to catch up.

Oh, we are sooo close to being completly finished with the bathroom. We just need paint and trim. I'll post pictures of the completed project by weeks end.

Merry Christmas!!

So much for making a new post every week. I've been a little busy since school let out, what with organizing cabinets, finding room for all of Jakes' presents, and remodeling our one and only bathroom. Here are some Christmas pic's. Hopefully I will have a completed bathroom by weeks end and can share those photos with you as well.

Okay, all of these toys did not come from us. We are missing a shot of his personal Thomas The Train. It has been charging over at Mom's house and we are still trying to find a place in our tiny house where we can provide room for his track and train.

Jake's Uncle Stephen got some quality time. He was trying to show Jake how his new legos worked, but Jake really just wanted to taste them.
Our first family Christmas. We had so much fun playing with the new toys!!
Apparently you can get matching clothing for infants and stuffed animals. Who knew?

Tony was being an awesome Uncle by helping G-unit put his new hot wheels track together.

Don't look too closely or you'll notice that the picture frames still have the store bought families inside. I said I've been busy!

I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas!!!!!!!!
